The Glasgow Botanic Gardens sit at the top of Byres Road in the West End, free to wander any day. The star is the Kibble Palace, a domed Victorian glasshouse full of tree ferns and white marble statues, with the main range of glasshouses alongside and riverside paths down to the Kelvin. A lovely pairing with a stop at Òran Mór just across the road. Hyndland station is the nearest, about 1.5km to the west.
