Òran Mór fills the former Kelvinside Parish Church at the top of Byres Road, converted in 2004 into a bar, restaurant and venue. The old auditorium carries a vast starry ceiling mural by the writer and artist Alasdair Gray, and the whisky bar keeps well over a hundred malts. It’s also home to the lunchtime “A Play, a Pie and a Pint” theatre season. Right across from the Botanic Gardens; Partick station is about 1.5km to the south-west.
