Reopened in 2025 after a long renovation, the Royal George was named best place to stay in Wales in The Times’s 2026 round-up of UK hotels. It has been an inn at Tintern since 1829, set between the River Angidy and the Wye with the abbey close by, and now runs several rooms and dining spaces. Chepstow station is about 6km south.
