Veddw is a contemporary garden made over more than twenty years by Anne Wareham and her husband Charles Hawes, on a hillside at Devauden above the Wye. It is known for its bold clipped hedges — some echoing the shapes of old field boundaries — and a dark reflecting pool. Wareham writes sharply about gardens, and Veddw reads as an argument as much as a garden. It opens seasonally.
