The Prince of Wales at Kenfig was once the town hall, built to replace the guildhall of medieval Kenfig — the town the sea buried under sand and which had been abandoned by the 14th century. Grade II listed, it later served as a courtroom and a Sunday school, and is still owned by the old borough trust. Kenfig’s dunes and nature reserve are on the doorstep; Pyle station is about 2km east.
