This maroon corrugated-iron tavern high in the Preselis began life in the railway age and now trades as a proudly traditional Welsh community pub, with sawdust on the floor, its own ale and hearty local cooking. Call in to warm up after climbing Foel Cwmcerwyn, the range’s highest point just to the north-east, or before exploring the ancient burial chamber at Pentre Ifan.
