Newport Sands spreads across the mouth of the Nevern estuary below the Preseli Hills, a broad beach reached by road from Newport or on the small ferry across the river at low tide. There’s a golf links behind it and a car park at the near end, with lifeguard cover in summer. Fishguard Harbour station is about 10km west.
