A 17th-century coaching inn on the main street of Newport, the Golden Lion serves food and has rooms, making a comfortable base under the north flank of the Preseli Hills. Newport Sands and the estuary are a short walk away, and the coast path runs through the town. Fishguard is about 10km west.
