The Glenesk Hotel sits on the edge of Edzell, beside the golf course and handy for walks up Glen Esk into the southern Angus glens. It’s a comfortable hotel with a bar and restaurant, and a decent overnight base if you’re visiting Edzell Castle and its walled garden. Laurencekirk, about 12km east, is the nearest station.
