Whiteford Lighthouse is a rare thing: a cast-iron sea tower of 1865, said to be the only wave-swept cast-iron lighthouse of its size left in Britain. It stands offshore beyond Whiteford Point, disused now, and can be walked out to over sand and rock at low tide — a long, exposed trek that needs a falling tide and careful timing. It rises off the end of Whiteford Sands.
