Whiteford Sands is a two-mile run of dune-backed beach on the remote north-west Gower, a national nature reserve rich in dune plants and birds. It’s a walk of a mile or more from Cwm Ivy through the pines, with no facilities at the shore. Out beyond the point stands Whiteford Lighthouse; currents here run strong, so it’s better for walking than swimming. Broughton Bay lies round to the west.
