The Newt is a lavish estate garden at Hadspen, near Bruton, best known for its Parabola — an egg-shaped walled maze of hundreds of trained apple varieties. Elsewhere on the estate there’s a cascade of ponds, a deer park and a long treetop walkway through the woods. It’s open to members and to day visitors, who need to book; admission is charged.
