Behind this Tudor manor east of Dorchester is one of the finest Arts and Crafts gardens in the county, laid out by F. Inigo Thomas in 1891. The Great Court is the set piece: twelve giant yew pyramids, now grown well above head height, ringed by Ham stone walls and a pair of stone pavilions. Beyond it lie further walled courts, a terrace and a river walk. Paid entry; Moreton station is about 5km south.
