Briantspuddle is a model village in the Piddle Valley, built up between the wars by the department-store owner Sir Ernest Debenham as a self-sufficient farming estate. Its whitewashed cob-and-thatch cottages include The Ring, a distinctive thatched group he added in 1919, and the war memorial nearby was carved by Eric Gill. Moreton station is about 6km to the south-west.
