A walled Victorian pleasure garden, long neglected and now restored, tucked into the Purbeck hills south of Wareham. There are glasshouses, deep borders and a cafe within the walls, and the appeal is as much the story of its recovery as the planting. It opens on selected days only, so check before setting out.
