Sparkenhoe Farm at Upton, near Market Bosworth, is the only place still making traditional raw-milk Red Leicester, the crumbly orange cheese the county gave its name to. Jo and David Clarke revived it here in 2005, using milk from their own Holstein-Friesian herd and binding the wheels in cloth and lard. A cheese shop and tearoom on the farm are open Friday and Saturday.
Full name: Leicestershire Handmade Cheese Co (Sparkenhoe Farm)
