The Cartmel Village Shop is the little deli where the village’s famous sticky toffee pudding was first made, and it’s still handmade and sold from the corner of the square, alongside a good spread of local produce and picnic bits. Open to visitors — grab a pud to take home, then wander over to Cartmel priory or out to the racecourse. Expect a queue on busy weekends; it shifts a lot of pudding.
