Great medieval abbey church in a Thames village.
The great sculpted Jesse window — tracery, carved stone and 14th-century glass all working one family tree — is what most people come to Dorchester Abbey to see. The church stands on the site of a Saxon cathedral and grew from a Norman abbey into the long building beside Dorchester-on-Thames. Open to visitors, with a small museum and tea room. Culham station is about 5km west.
