The wool trade paid for this church, and it shows: a tall Perpendicular tower and a carved south porch rise over Northleach. Inside is one of England’s finest sets of monumental brasses, laid down for the medieval wool merchants who funded the rebuilding — several shown with their feet resting on woolpacks and sheep, and marked with the woolmarks that tracked whose fleece was whose.
Full name: Church of St Peter and St Paul, Northleach
