Trellech’s church is large for the village, with a tall broach spire visible from some way off. The name means roughly “town of stones”, a nod to the three Bronze Age standing stones — Harold’s Stones — in a field just outside the village. The church sits off the Monmouth–Chepstow road, and pairs well with a look at the stones. Chepstow station is about 12km south.
