High Glanau is an Arts and Crafts garden laid out by Henry Avray Tipping — the Country Life writer and garden-maker — around his own house above the Vale of Usk. Stone terraces, a pergola and yew hedges step down the hillside towards a long view west. It is one of a cluster of Tipping gardens in the county, with Mathern Palace and Wyndcliffe Court, and opens on selected days. Chepstow station is about 14km south.
