Cirencester’s parish church is the grandest of the Cotswold wool churches, big enough to earn the nickname “Cathedral of the Cotswolds”. Its three-storey south porch, facing the market place, was built around 1500 and later served as the town hall; inside are fan vaulting and a carved stone “wineglass” pulpit of about 1440. It stands at the heart of Cirencester. Kemble station is about 6km to the south-west.
