A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Cheshire. It is one of five motte-and-bailey castles the Albion Guide lists in the county. For more of the same, Holt Castle and Castell Caergwrle are close by. Caergwrle Station is 6.7 km away to the west.
