A long strip of sand and a Victorian promenade run along the front at Nairn, looking north across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle and the hills beyond. It’s a gentle, family sort of beach — good for a stroll, a paddle and an ice cream — and dolphins sometimes pass offshore. The station is about a kilometre back from the sea.
