A sweep of sand and shingle backs onto red sandstone cliffs at Rosemarkie on the Black Isle, with a café by the car park and the wooded Fairy Glen walk climbing away at the north end. Head the other way along the shore and you reach Chanonry Point, one of Britain’s best places to watch dolphins from dry land. A gorgeous, easy afternoon combining the two.
