Rosemarkie is a pretty Black Isle village with a sandy beach and a real curiosity in the Groam House Museum, which holds a fine collection of carved Pictish stones. From the north end of the village, a path climbs into the Fairy Glen, a wooded gorge with a couple of waterfalls — a lovely short walk. The nearest railhead is across the firth at Inverness.
