Cromarty East Church is one of the best-preserved old kirks in Scotland, its 18th-century interior full of galleries and box pews. It was a finalist in the BBC’s Restoration Village, which led to a £1.3 million restoration finished in 2007, and it’s now open to visitors. In the same town you’ll find the Cromarty Brewing Company. Invergordon is the nearest station, across the firth to the west.
