A near-perfect horseshoe of sea tucked into the cliffs on the wild south Purbeck coast, Chapman’s Pool has no road to it — you walk in on the coast path, and the last stretch down is steep. The high cliffs around it are soft, fossil-bearing clay and shale, prone to slips, so keep clear of the base. Corfe Castle and its station lie about 5km north.
