Lytham’s best-known landmark is its windmill — a white-painted tower mill built around 1805 on the green by the sea. Gutted by fire in 1919 when a gale spun its sails out of control, it was later restored and now holds a small museum run by the local heritage trust (free, and open seasonally). St Cuthbert’s church and Lytham Hall are both close by. Lytham station is under 1km away.
