Fairhaven Lake is a big Edwardian boating lake set just back from the seafront between Lytham and St Annes, with marine gardens around it and a café in the restored lakeside pavilion. You can hire a pedalo or a rowing boat in season, or simply walk the loop and watch the birds out on the saltmarsh beyond. Free to wander; Ansdell & Fairhaven station is only a few minutes’ walk.
