Hesketh Park opened in Southport in 1868, laid out by Edward Kemp with a lake, floral clock and rock garden. A Victorian observatory still stands on its mound, free to visit, alongside a restored conservatory. Free to enter and open daily, it sits a short walk from the Sefton Coast. Meols Cop station is about 1.4km to the south-east.
