Winslow is a small red-brick market town in the north Bucks vale, gathered round a market square of old coaching inns. On the edge stands Winslow Hall, a Queen Anne house built in 1700 for William Lowndes and generally attributed to Sir Christopher Wren, who supervised the building accounts.
