West Wycombe is a single old street kept almost intact by the National Trust, below the hill that Sir Francis Dashwood remade in the 18th century. Up top are his golden-balled church and the Dashwood mausoleum; dug into the hill beneath are the Hellfire Caves, where his club is said to have met. High Wycombe station is about 4km east.
