A great hexagonal shell of flint walls, roofless and open to the sky, crowns West Wycombe Hill beside the golden ball of St Lawrence’s church. Sir Francis Dashwood had it built in the 1760s as a family mausoleum, part of the same landscaping that gave the hill its other oddities. You can walk up freely to reach it.
