Turvey lines the Great Ouse on the Buckinghamshire border, its long medieval bridge of many arches carrying the road over the river — look for the stone statue of Jonah and the whale set in the water beside it. The parish church has Saxon origins, and Turvey Abbey, now a Benedictine monastery, sits at the far end. Quiet riverside walks run from the village.
