The only complete windmill left in Bedfordshire stands on the ridge above Stevington, an eighteenth-century post mill turned bodily on its central post to face the wind. It milled cattle feed until 1939, and Bedfordshire County Council restored it for the Festival of Britain in 1951. Free to visit; Bedford station is about 6km to the south-east.
