Two breweries in one small town: Masham is home to both Theakston, brewer of the famous Old Peculier, and Black Sheep, set up down the road by a member of the same family — both run tours. The town sits on the Ure around one of the biggest market squares in the Dales, still busy on Wednesdays and Saturdays and for the big autumn sheep fair. East Witton lies a short way up the dale.
