If you’re in Masham, Black Sheep is one of two family breweries in the little market town. It was set up in 1992 and is best known for its cask ales; the visitor centre runs guided brewery tours, with a bar and kitchen and the Sheepy Shop on site. Its older neighbour, Theakston, is a short walk across town. Tours are ticketed, so book ahead. Northallerton is the nearest station, about 18km to the north-east.
