Dunnet village sits behind the wide sweep of Dunnet Bay, one of the best beaches on the north coast, with Dunnet Head rising beyond — the most northerly point of the British mainland, further north than John o’ Groats. There’s a lighthouse and seabird cliffs out at the head. Thurso station is about 11km west.
