Balmaha sits on Loch Lomond’s wooded east shore and is one of the busiest points on the West Highland Way, which passes straight through. Boats run from the bay out to the loch’s islands, including the Inchcailloch nature reserve just offshore, and the climb up Conic Hill behind the village gives a cracking view down the length of the loch. Balloch station is about 9km south.
