If you want a huge Loch Lomond view for very little effort, Duncryne is the one. Known locally as the Dumpling, this little knoll above Gartocharn is a short but steep pull up from a lane, and the top opens out on a glorious panorama over the loch and its scattered islands. Free to climb; Balloch station is about 6km away by road.
