The draw at Achmelvich is the beach — a dazzling curve of white sand and clear water tucked into the coast just west of Lochinver. The hamlet itself is a scatter of crofts and a campsite at the end of a narrow single-track road off the B869. Bring what you need, as there’s little in the way of shops out this way.
