A small wood-fired sauna at Clachtoll Beach Campsite in Assynt, a few steps from the sea on the NC500
Save this place
Carpenters on a small croft in the north-east Highlands built this sauna, and it currently sits at Clachtoll Beach Campsite, and it’s open to anyone, camping or not. Shared sessions last 75 minutes with up to six people, and the stove is lit before you arrive. Cool off in the sea or at the cold-water dunk bucket. For a same-day slot, ask at the campsite reception.
