Achmelvich is a dazzling white-sand cove of turquoise water west of Lochinver, the sort of beach that gets compared to the Caribbean. It sits at the end of a narrow single-track road off the B869, with a car park and machair grassland behind it, looking out to the Minch. A blue-flag beach that draws swimmers and paddlers through the summer; about three miles from Lochinver in Assynt.
