A broad sweep of pale sand and dunes on the Coigach coast, Achnahaird opens out towards the Summer Isles with the peaks of Assynt rising behind. It’s reached off the single-track Coigach road, with a small car park. Shallow and sheltered enough for a paddle at low tide, though the Atlantic keeps the water bracing whatever the calendar says.
