Achiltibuie strings out for a couple of miles along the Coigach coast, its crofts looking across the water to the scattered Summer Isles just offshore. It sits at the end of a long single-track road off the A835, so it’s a place you set out for rather than pass through. Boat trips to the isles run from nearby Old Dornie in summer, and the views back to the Assynt peaks are terrific.
