White sand, clear water and dark gneiss rocks make Clachtoll one of Assynt’s finest beaches, and there’s an Iron Age broch right beside it — a drystone tower whose remains were excavated a few years back. It’s off the single-track B869, with a car park and seasonal facilities. Just up the coast from Achmelvich, and worth pairing the two on a good day.
