Abinger Hammer is a small Tillingbourne village named for the iron-working hammer mills that once ran on the stream here. Its landmark is the jack-o’-clock over the A25, a figure of Jack the Blacksmith who strikes the hours with his hammer. It sits on the road between Gomshall and Shere, with Gomshall station about 1km north-west.
