The Silent Pool is a clear spring-fed pool below the North Downs at Albury, its still green water fringed by box and yew. Local legend ties it to a girl who drowned fleeing King John, though that tale is a Victorian invention. Open access and free, with a car park nearby. Gomshall station is about 3km east.
