Wrynose is a narrow, twisting high pass linking the Duddon valley with Little Langdale, topping out beside the Three Shire Stone, which once marked where Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire met. It’s steep and single-track with few passing places, so it takes patience, and most people tackle it together with Hardknott Pass immediately to the west for a proper mountain drive. Best kept for clear, dry days.
